Resilience engineering, in the space context, is the practice of designing space systems so they keep operating through failure, interference, and attack.
Resilience engineering builds redundancy, failover, and recovery into a platform so a disruption becomes a degraded service rather than a total outage. It is the discipline behind the space systems resilience engineer role.
